About The Dorcas Project
The Dorcas project was established in 2014 to promote the vocational skills of Black/African women in Greater Manchester by Providing learning and sharing opportunities to engage them in activities that they enjoy and can use to create jobs, socialise and feel empowered.
What We Do
- Train, educate and provide opportunities for women and young girls to learn new skills.
- Working in partnership with other voluntary agencies to remove barriers to participation through networking and joint projects.
- Provide a service that meets the specialist needs of African women by letting them be stakeholders in their community activities.
- Create links with hard to reach communities in Greater Manchester, in particular African communities.
